Dale House of Worship MixLab

September 11, 2017

Presented by Dale Pro Audio, Presonus, Audio-Technica, and Bose Professional.

On September 8th and 9th, Dale continued its ongoing series of successful events geared towards the House of Worship markets, this time partnering with Presonus, Audio-Technica, and Bose Professional to present the House of Worship MixLab.

The event's curriculum was repeated over both days, with an aggregate attendance of over 40 attendees, representing a variety of congregations and experience levels from novice volunteers to seasoned professionals.

There were also opportunities for attendees to network with the manufacturers representatives, with special guest integration firm Sound Park NY, and most importantly, each other.

This event was focused on the concepts of mixing for worship venues, from setup, to line checks/sound checks, mixer settings, and then onto mic techniques and beyond. Once again, our guest of honor was Worship MD's Doug Gould, who brings many years of expertise in worship audio to the fold. He offered many anecdotes based on his travels and experiences in congregations the world over, whether involving technical solutions, managing work flow during worship services, and even other necessary details such as people skills and delegating tasks amongst volunteers.

Five StudioLive 24 Series III consoles were graciously supplied by Presonus for the event, who sent Commercial Division Technical Sales representative Jon Taylor (who was a key figure in some of its design) to give an overview of their capability. In addition, LienauAV (our representatives for Presonus and A-T) had an impressive spread of Audio Technica microphones and gear set up for the visitors to check out.

Also on hand was Bose's District Sales Manager Al Spinelli, reviewing some of the latest and greatest products they have to benefit the install and worship markets. He demo'ed the new ShowMatch line array system, EdgeMax ceiling loudspeakers, and Panaray columns.

After a catered meal for lunch, attendees then were treated to a fully "hands-on" session with the consoles, all loaded up with the same program material to follow Doug's lead, and allowed for more personalized instruction as the afternoon progressed. Each day then closed with a quick panel-style overview of the ongoing wireless audio and RF changes, and how they can affect the attendees' congregations. Doug Gould, Lienau's Chris Hutnick, and Dale's Eric Eldredge and Luis Rivera covered this hot topic, fielding questions and offering solutions to these new and important challenges.

Luis Rivera was again the driving force behind this event. "(Luis quote here)"
