    Description

This is a complete Surround Kit with five carefully factory-matched 4015 Wide Cardioid Microphones. Even though the standard tolerances on the 4015s  are extremely low, the surround match is even closer. The specially-selected 4015 Wide Cardioid Microphones are matched within ±1 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity from mean of set.

Recording orchestras or other acoustic ensembles sometimes requires a compromise between blending in the room reverberation and a more precise localization. The natural response and dynamic range make this Surround Kit an obvious choice for precise tone quality and wide dynamic range. This is a great solution for AB, Decca Tree or surround main arrays like our Wide Cardioid Surround Array.

The foam design in the heavy-duty transportation box allows for fast and easy exchange of microphone / accessory inlays.

    Features:

    • Five carefully matched microphones
    • Useful as orchestral main pair
    • Peli™ Case transportation and protection

Surround Kits all have unique features for surround sound recording. There are three different types of microphone kits and you can read about the details for the individual kits below and their qualities and applications. The microphones can be used in any given configuration, but when used with the dedicated S5 Surround/Decca Tree Mount you’ll have endless of possibilities to capture the nature of the environment in which the mics are placed. The S5 Surround Mount can be used for both Decca as well as numerous Surround main array setups.

The S5 Surround/Decca Tree Mount is a highly versatile and stylish microphone mount. The Surround Mount provides extreme flexibility due to its unique building block design. It allows for numerous configurations while providing visual elegance.

On stage, the mount is hardly visible and completely non-light reflective. The mount is equally suitable for fixed installations and mobile setups and can be neatly packed away into the supplied briefcase for easy transportation. Compact and extremely lightweight, the S5 Surround Mount is very strong and stable.
