The Largest InfoComm Show. Ever.

IC17One of the premier trade shows in the industry for all things AV, InfoComm 17 was held from June 14th to 16th, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The show appeals to professionals in markets such as installed sound, corporate and institutional AV, live sound, house of worship, touring and rental companies, and so on. Technologies shown can range from line array speakers, to consoles, to digital signage, to intercom systems, to lighting, to microphones, to RF and IP solutions... The sky is truly the limit.

To that end, InfoComm International reported a record-high 44,000-plus attendees this year, shattering all previous years. In addition to manufacturers booths and showcases, the organization also set up various panels, classes, and training/certification sessions for their CTS program. They debuted the TIDE program (Technology, Innovation, Design, Experience) regarding industry tech leadership, and had several other panels in the new "Center Stage" section of the show.

Attending the show on Dale's behalf were Broadcast Sales Director Mike Descoteau and Director of Marketing and Brand Development Eric Eldredge. The show's scope is massive, touching on so many different technologies, so our team mostly took to the audio pavilions.

Eric shares his thoughts: "The main takeaway I got from the show was the ever-growing use of IP and software technologies to bring our world into a cohesive whole, whether in networking the audio itself or controlling your gear from the convenience of your tablet or smartphone. This is about as exciting a time as ever to be in the audio contracting/installation field."
