The leading tradeshow and expo for the broadcast, media, post production, and content creation industries, the NAB Show heralded its centennial anniversary this year. Over 65,000 attendees from 66 different countries converged upon the entertainment hotbed of Las Vegas to meet with over 1200 exhibiting companies. Our team traversed the show halls for the latest and greatest in audio for broadcast and media production.

With the major exciting developments in broadcast mostly involving virtualization through AI and the Cloud, we were impressed with new releases from our valued partners such as Telos Alliance, Glensound, Audio-Technica, RTW, Sennheiser, Waves, Audinate, Neumann, and more!

Sennheiser

Introducing Sennheiser EW-DP Wireless

Time is measured differently on set. Seconds converted into frames, minutes into card space, hours into precious remaining daylight. Sennheiser EW-DP will change the way you think of sound on set. A wireless microphone system that puts time on your side by blending best-in-class technology with an ergonomic build.

Fully digital UHF guarantees cutting-edge signal clarity and reliability, and an innovative magnetic stacking system makes set-up a snap. Smart Notifications quickly identify missed yet critical problems, so you’re never caught off guard. Auto frequency coordination locates, organizes, and maximizes frequency usage with precision ensuring you find the most reliable signal in seconds. The Smart Assist app puts the control in the palm of your hand, allowing you to adjust your system at camera or across the room.

Whether you’re a crew of one or many, EW-DP is the ideal partner to simplify your audio workflow. After all, production has enough challenges; sound doesn’t need to be one of them.

Sony

Sony MDR-MV1: Spatial Mixing For Everyone!

The Sony MDR-MV1 ($399) offers extended spatial sound reproducibility and accurate sound object positioning within a 360-degree space, as well as clear, hi-resolution, nuanced sound with a super-wide frequency range and accurate soundstage. The headphones’ uniquely developed driver units provide ultra-wideband playback (5Hz – 80 kHz) with natural high frequencies. This makes it easier for professionals to capture localization, spaciousness and detailed changes in sound processing.

The open back structure of the headphones reduces internally reflected sounds and eliminates acoustic resonances while accurately reproducing natural, rich spatial information and sounds. These robust features support their use in professional mixing and mastering environments while accommodating audio engineers’ highest standards

Neumann

Bring Neumann Quality To Your Digital Workflow.

The MT 48 ($1850) is an audio interface without compromise. With its huge dynamic range, superior converters, preamps and headphone amplifiers, it sets new standards in sound quality. Internal DSP power allows for monitor mixes with sophisticated EQ and dynamics processing – all intuitively controlled via touchscreen.

The MT 48 leaves nothing to be desired: audio quality at the highest level, built-in DSP processing, comprehensive expandability, and convenient operation via touchscreen. The MT 48 is the missing link in the Neumann universe, connecting microphones, loudspeakers and headphones to create the perfect studio.
