Get In On It.
The NAB NY show, the first year of the rebranding of the HDWorld/CCW show, occurred Wednesday and Thursday, November 9th and 10th. A tour of the show floor revealed a wide array of technologies: broadcast monitoring, consoles, audio processors, cloud-based delivery and storage, virtual reality, microphones, conferencing, and even a place to fly drones!
Read on for Technology Development Manager Joel Guilbert's take on the show:
"While audio wasn't the main thrust of the show, some of Dale's valued partners such as Shure, TSL, Linear Acoustic, Digico, Roland and ClearCom were on hand to show their wares. As a regional show, it was great to catch up with clients old and new who managed to sneak away for a few hours to walk the show.
A couple of interesting new offerings were the ClearCom HelixNet beltpack - which now more closely resembles the form factor of their flagship FreeSpeak2 pack. With RF spectrum re-allocation the VHF band is (once again) looking friendlier, and Shure's new UA845UWB antenna distribution system includes the 174-216Mhz range.
Many manufacturers expressed positive words about the pairing of the NAB NY show with AES NY next fall, and how it could bring new faces and excitement to both shows."
