Our friends at the Sports Video Group recently hosted a two-day summit in Atlanta called the Sports Venue Production Summit. The event was held at the newly-opened Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the NFL's Falcons and MLS's Atlanta United franchises, the 2018 MLS All-Star Game, and numerous high-level concerts.
With only a mere glance at the breathtaking 360-degree "halo board" video screens that adorn the stadium's roof, visitors and multimedia professionals alike are consistently impressed at the numerous innovations the stadium has incorporated into its design. A few of these were used as the basis for the summit's discussions and panels.
Dale Pro Audio's Broadcast Sales Director Mike Descoteau was present for this event and shared his thoughts. "The event was well attended..over 200 people were in the house! The star of the show was the video halo integrated by DSI, consisting of Ross Video and Daktronics infrastructure. It will surely benchmark for in-stadium video display for some time to come. The way the video display is conceived is to create a very sophisticated fan engagement experience."
