AES and NAB NY 2022 Recap

October 26, 2022

AES and NAB NY

AES and NAB NY Are Back In Business!

For the first time in three years, the AES and NAB New York Shows were back! This year's edition brought the 153rd AES and 2022 NAB NY conventions into one truly co-located hall for a single end-user focused experience.

Dale Pro Audio AES Booth

Dale Pro Audio had a booth for people to meet and greet our Sales Professionals and to see some of our audio solutions up close. Not only that, but our team traversed the show floor to capture some of the latest and greatest releases in the audio world!

Some of the great new finds we saw:

  • Avid released the new Pro Tools | Carbon Pre, an eight-channel preamp, which can serve as either an expansion to the Pro Tools | Carbon or as a standalone AVB front-end.
  • Avid also brought back the popular MBOX family, with the all-new MBOX Studio audio interface.
  • Sony brought a new member of the C-Series, the C80, with the same quality and audio resolution at an all new $499 price.
  • RME introduced the Digiface Ravenna audio interface with 256 channels into USB3.
  • We got our first look at the Apogee Boom USB-C audio interface.
  • CEDAR Audio expanded their hardware noise suppressor family with the new four-channel DNS4.
  • NUGEN Audio introduced Halo Vision, a plugin delivering comprehensive metering for immersive audio.
  • IK Multimedia displayed their now-shipping iLoud Precision studio monitors with DSP.
  • Lewitt Audio unveiled their first audio interface - the Connect 6 has features tailored to live streamers and podcasters.
  • NTP Technology introduced the DAD AX64, with an astounding amount of inputs and outputs when fully loaded - perfect for immersive setups!
  • Shure introduced the UL4 lavalier microphone and the AD600 Axient Digital control unit.
  • Comrex showed their Gagl software codec service. It allows simplified connection from remote locations to a central Comrex codec in studio.
  • Pliant Technologies showed the CCU-08 intercom control unit.
  • Triad-Orbit displayed their now-expanded line of immersive or surround studio monitor setups and solutions.
  • Eventide released Physion 2, a multi-FX plugin that's an ideal addition to any sound design or post production arsenal.

AES 2022

In addition, there were loads of workshops, appearances from industry-leading producers and engineers, discussions on AoIP advancement and much more. We were also treated to critical and listening rooms provided by our friends at JBL, Neumann, and Meyer Sound.

Valerie Lager

"We were blown away by the huge turnout," remarks Dale co-owner Valerie Lager. "The response and excitement about the show plus the traffic in our booth is beyond anything we could have expected."
