IFB and Cueing

IFB (short for Interrupted Fold Back) is generally defined as the audio sent from the studio to talent (newscaster/reporter, anchor) during a broadcast. When you see someone on air touching their earpiece and then saying "...this just in...." they are receiving audio via their IFB feed.
